Key Engineering Group, Ltd (KEY) is pleased to announce our involvement with a 10-acre Wauwatosa condominium development. This project is the current site of a former machine shop that has fallen into a brownfield. years of neglect have contaminated soil and groundwater with solvents and petroleum. There is currently a 200,000 square foot vacant building that is slated for demolition. KEY assisted our client in evaluating the overall environmental risk in this property, and is currently obtaining Wisconsin Department of natural Resources (WDNR) approval to place the residential units on this land. Our unique approach to this redevelopment will make this once contaminated parcel of land a safe, inviting upscale condo development. The result of KEYs investigation gave the City of Wauwatosa a comfort level to approve a 6 million dollar Tax Increment Fund (TIF) to assist with remediation and redevelopment.
